SEVENTHOLIVE

jewelry

about seventholive
My SEVENTHOLIVE challenge is to give new life to recyclable materials and found objects.  I first try to find an alternative use for things at home and in my business before, as a last resort, throwing them into the blue recycling bins.

Packing paper is used to make focus beads and others uses are devised for found objects and recyclable materials.
  • Glass bottles, tin cans, styrofoam blocks and cardboard boxes in the workshop.
  • Pebbles, shells and beach glass in designs.

I also want to explore other materials, whether recycled, re-purposed or innovative and unusual sources.

A very interesting online source is Blaine Brownell and Transstudio.

You might also want to check out MaterialConnexion that actually has a physical materials library.

Designer/Owner

The goal of SEVENTHOLIVE jewelry is to express the beauty of our world in an environmentally-
responsible manner.

Simple, every day objects (naturally-occurring or man-made) and recyclable materials are used in SEVENTHOLIVE designs and production.

The current paper bead lines are designed in an earth palate of brown, copper and bronze to complement focus beads made of rolled brown recyclable paper, and a beach palate that mimics sand and shells to go with the recycled white paper beads.

SEVENTHOLIVE purchases as many of its materials as possible from companies that also have a policy of environmental responsibility through recycling or the use of renewable, sustainable sources, and/or from companies that have fair trade practices.
